THANK YOU!!!!!! I have been fighting XP for months trying to get m
Korg M1 talking to my computer again, and this worked BEAUTIFULLY! Sur
beats a re-install of XP! Thank you again, you're my new hero!

To anyone using a MIDI to USB cable like the ones you find on eBay, us
this method!

Give this a try...Found it on another forum and just posting it aroun
as I had big problems too.....
I found a fix that worked for me and I hope it works for anyone els
experiencing the same issue. I had to Manually delete the UpperFilter
and LowerFilters registry values. (maybe only one exists at your place
***
To Manually delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values
1. Start Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
START > RUN > (Type) REGEDIT (and hit ENTER)
2. Locate the UpperFilters and LowerFilters value under the followin
key in the registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contr
l\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3. On the Edit menu, click Delete, and then click OK.
Now you have to UNINSTALL THE USB AUDIO DEVICE, UNPLUG IT, AND REPLU
IT AGAIN
VOILA !!!! WORKING !!!

Same problem, trying fruitlessly to get my USB-Midi cable to communicat
between my Korg PA-50 and Sonar, despite Device Manager telling m
everything was OK. This on a Toshiba A120 laptop with Intel single-cor
and XP SP2. Yet it works OK with my L300 laptop running Vista. Now, wit
Tito Pulpo's simple registry modification, my no-brand Chinese USB-Mid
interface works fine on the A120 as well. Many thanks! I can sto
tearing my hair out.
Would things change if I upgraded to SP3
